Are you eligible for the charitable licenses?
The Microsoft Open License Charity program allows eligible non-profit organizations, see definition below, to acquire software licenses at reduced prices. Effective as of January 1st 2007, Microsoft Canada has modified the eligibility definition of the Open Licensing Charity Program in Canada.Canadian Eligibility for Charity Licensing
Microsoft Open License Charity Overview
The following are eligible to acquire Microsoft Open Charity licenses and are defined as qualified charitable organizations;

| B. | Hospices funded solely by private charitable donations that meet the qualifications as defined under section A |
If you lose your status as an eligible charitable organization subsequent to licensing products under this agreement, you may continue to use copies for which you are licensed, but you may not submit any new order for licenses under the Microsoft Charity Open License Program.
Special note regarding Healthcare and Academic organizations:
- Hospitals, Healthcare Organizations, Healthcare Systems, and Research Laboratories are NOT eligible to acquire charitable licenses unless they qualify under A and B above.
- Customers who qualify under the definitions stated in the Qualified Educational User definition are NOT eligible for charitable licenses.
